Are you pregnant and bored? How can you make yourself feel better? Well, there are many fun things to do when pregnant and bored, especially in the third trimester.

In my experience with both pregnancies, I realized that time drags its feet in the late second and third trimesters.

You want the baby to come, but the days seem longer, and the nights are even painfully longer.

The only way to get distracted and forget how time is moving slowly is by simply getting busy. Luckily, you can do many things to pass the time as you wait for your baby’s arrival.

I have compiled a comprehensive list of fun things to do when pregnant and bored. You will make the best of your days as you try out these activities.

Pamper Yourself

There are so many ways you can treat yourself. You deserve a part on the back for coming this far, and giving yourself a treat is a clever way to heighten your moods.

You can go for a solo pregnancy massage, get a pedicure, get your hair done, or get a full body scrub.

You don’t want to look shabby in the first few photos you will take with your newborn, so it’s good to pamper and groom yourself.

Get Yourself A Good Book

I love recommending reading because I’m a book lover too. Sometimes you need to rest your eyes and brain by getting off social media and reading an exciting book.

There are loads of book genres to choose from, depending on your taste. I’m a huge fan of motivational pieces, so you’ll probably find loads of them in my library.

Try Out Some New Recipes

If you love cooking, this will be an exciting adventure. How about you try out some new recipes? I learned how to bake and make homemade vanilla ice cream during the third trimester with my second child.

You can try new meals from different cultures, and you might get a new favourite dish to prepare for your guests.

Make Lunch/ Dinner With Friends

The best time to have that long-awaited lunch date with your friends while pregnant is now. You will spend a long time with your child after delivery, and your friends might not get this chance anytime soon.

Take Yourself To That Dream Vacation

Most people consider vacations a time for couples to bond, but that’s not the case. You can take a vacation to that holiday destination you’ve been dreaming of.

If you’re not a loner like me, you might tag your partner or some of your friends and have the best time of your life.

Shop For The Baby

Although you feel like the days aren’t moving, you might get shocked when you find out you haven’t shopped enough and the baby is here. If you’re in the third trimester, this is the time to ensure that you have all the baby essentials you need before you walk into the delivery room.

Luckily, you don’t have to go out there to do the shopping. You can shop from several online stores and deliver your items to your doorstep.

Prepare The Nursery Room

Have you prepared the nursery room? If not, this is the time to make the best nursery room for your baby. If you feel too exhausted, ask your partner or close friends to help you set it up.

Clean And Fold Baby Clothes

After you’re done with the nursery preparation, you want to ensure that your baby’s clothes are washed and arranged correctly. Have multiple drawer organizers and sort out items so you won’t have to go through the stress of looking for things in the wrong places.

Take A Nature Walk

If you want fresh air away from your house, you can go out and walk in the evenings. Ensure you carry a bottle of water with you while going for a walk to stay hydrated.

Take Up Pregnancy Yoga Classes

Yoga is a good relaxation exercise that you can try out during pregnancy. There are multiple yoga coaches all over the place. You can quickly search for a yoga coach and enroll in yoga classes near you.

Watch A New Movie

Just like books, there are so many movies coming out every single day that you can try to watch. I tried some series during my pregnancy and was impressed by how good they were. You might want to watch what’s new on Netflix and watch as you enjoy a bowl of popcorn.

Shop For Your Maternity Essentials Online

You can do your whole shopping online without visiting physical stores around you. You may be lucky, and land on crazy discount offers, and the best part is you have your goods delivered to you.

Clean Your Home

Who doesn’t love a clean home? But I’m not telling you to break your back trying to get your home sparkless. There are several professional cleaning services that you can use to clean your home.

If you prefer doing it yourself, then avoid heavy leaving and a lot of bending. Ensure you’re doing such chores with your partner

Pack Your Hospital Bag

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I enjoy packing and packing my hospital bag whenever I approach my EDD. Ensure you have all the essential items like a toothbrush, soap, toothpaste, shampoo, moisturizer, sanitary towels, and all the recommended items.

This tip is for first-time moms who need help fastening the baby carrier or using the stroller. Try to familiarize yourself with these items before your baby arrives. Good thing there’s always a tutorial on Youtube or any other platforms that can teach you how to use them.

So there you have some fun things to do when pregnant and bored, even if you’re alone. Some of us might be single mums or live far from our partners. So I compiled these fun things with you in mind. Grab a few and have some mad fun.
